POLITICS:APC Calls On EFCC, Others To Fast Track Recovery Of Stolen Assets

The All Progressives Congress has called on the nation’s anti-graft agencies to intensify efforts toward recovery of public assets stolen by elected officials.
The party explained that the Economic and Financial Crime Commission and other anti-graft agencies must do something fast to prevent a situation where corrupt individuals use their stolen funds to manipulate the processes of the 2019 general elections.
“Our call to anti-graft agencies is imperative as we prepare for the 2019 general elections. We must check the use of stolen public funds to finance elections in this country.Again, it is important that the Nigerian electorate have the opportunity to choose from candidates that can pass the integrity and corruption test.
” We must ensure that we never again entrust the leadership of this great country to a gang of thieves whose sole aim is treasury looting as brazenly displayed in past Peoples Democratic Party administrations.”, APC said in a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Yekini Nabena, in Abuja.
