The two security guards who found and returned a bag at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos have been rewarded with N250, 000 and a scholarship obtains diploma certification in security management and plaques.
These rewards were announced by their company, Halogen Security Company Limited.
Recall that Daniel Achi, who found the bag and his supervisor, Francis Emepueaku, are staff of Halogen Security Company. The company also honoured them with an early morning ceremonial parade.
Recall that it was reported that Achi and Emepueaku who were on duty at the new multi-level car park at the MMIA, on Saturday, August 18, found a bag containing a phone, large sum of money in dollar currency alongside expensive gift items, they returned to the owner, a lady who had just arrived Nigeria from the United States of America.
Reacting to this, the Group Managing Director of the company, Mr Wale Olaoye, had said the duo personified honesty deserving of great rewards.
While addressing other members of staff of the company, Olaoye said the guards’ at a parade staged in their honour, noted that honesty their act is worthy of emulation.
On his part, the Deputy Managing Director, Alpha Mead Facilities, managers of the car park, Mrs Wale Odufalu, described the guards as commendable fellows who chose the path of honour over temporary changes.
Also the Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, Saleh Dunoma, said the guards had demonstrated uncommon honesty.
“Several other related cases are being reported at our airports from those who forgot money, documents and other valuables and they have been returned to the owners,” he said while being represented by the Director of Engineering Services, Mr Salisu Daura.
