POLITICS:Atiku Eulogises Jonathan, Crowns Him Hero Of Nigerian Democracy

Former Vice-Present, Atiku Abubakar, has described Ex-President, Goodluck Jonathan as the hero of Nigerian democracy whose contributions to national harmony is admirable.He made this statement in Bayelsa state during a courtesy visit to President Jonathan at his country home, Otuoke.

Recall that while serving as President, handed over power to President Buhari, after losing the 2015 presidential election, saying that his political ambition doesn’t worth the life of any Nigerian.

Reflecting on that singular act, Atiku explained that Jonathan’s action doused tension in the country at that time, stressing that the situation in Nigeria may have been different if he (Jonathan) did not act wise.

“I want to say without equivocation that history will be very kind to you. As the democrat that I have always been, I want to say you have truly excelled! If you did not excel as a democrat par excellence, I wonder what the situation in Nigeria would be today,” Mr Abubakar said.

Also Atiku during his visit to Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti called on the All Progressives Congress to follow Jonathan’s Footstep by accepting defeat if they lose election.

Welcoming the August visitor, Jonathan expressed warm confidence in the personality of Atiku, appreciating him for choosing former Oyo State Governor, Gbenga Daniel Director General of his (Atiku) Presidential Campaign Organisation.
