Ebri made his withdrawal through a statement he explained was based on deep consultations with my family, friends and associates.
“Following deep consultations with my family, friends and associates, party leaders and stakeholders in the progress of our great party, the All Progressives Congress, I have decided to withdraw my candidacy from the race for the National Chairmanship of the APC.
“This decision has been taken in what I consider to be the overall best interest of the party and my belief that all stakeholders must row in the same rancour-free direction as we approach general elections in a few months.”
Recall that on Thursday in Abuja that the South-West caucus of the APC had gathered to endorse a former Ekiti State governor, Otunba Niyi Adebayo, for the position of the Deputy National Chairman (South). He will replace the outgoing occupant of the position, Segun Oni.
One of the top contenders of the All Progressives Congress, APC National Chairman Seat at the National convention slated for Saturday, June 23 Clement Ebri has stepped down from the race barely 24 hours to the convention date.
